The finished baby quilt

This Saturday, I joined my future sis-in-law Jenny and a big group of her nearest and dearest to fete the arrival of Baby Otto! It’s rare that I finish a sewing project early, so I’d been annoyingly excited to show it to Jenny. In fact, I’d message her throughout the day on g-chat just to make off-handed remarks about the quilt. (Will I ever mature?)

Anyway, it was super fun to hand it off to her! I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever made, and I’m excited it’s Otto’s.  Without further ado, I present, The Quilt.

I decided not to do any real quilting, but instead attached the layers together by sewing yarn through all layers where the squares’ corners met and tying a double knot. So there you have it! I may try to get a couple of photos of it in the amazing nursery that Jenny and Chris have made this Friday – a lesson in great DIY in itself!

  1. I'M OBSESSED WITH THIS QUILT. It may be considered regression, but it also has to do with the fact that this looks like a souped up version of my own baby blanket. Which I still *cough* have. And *cough* use.
